Day 1 : Arrival in Guwahati and Transfer to Shillong (100 Km/ 3 Hrs)

Upon your arrival at Guwahati airport or railway station, you will be warmly greeted by our representative. From there, embark on a scenic drive to Shillong, a journey of about 100 kilometers which takes approximately three hours. En route, make a delightful stop at Borapani Lake, where you can take a refreshing tea break. If time permits, you may indulge in some water sports on the serene lake. Upon reaching Shillong, check into your hotel and unwind from your journey. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, soaking in the tranquility of the "Scotland of the East." Enjoy an overnight stay in Shillong.

 

Day 2 : Shillong Local Sightseeing

After a hearty breakfast, set out to explore the local attractions of Shillong. Begin your tour with a visit to the Don Bosco Museum, which offers a fascinating insight into the rich culture and heritage of Northeast India. Next, head to Wards Lake, a beautiful man-made lake surrounded by lush gardens, perfect for a leisurely stroll. In the afternoon, visit the serene Cathedral Church, known for its stunning architecture and peaceful ambiance. Day 3 : Shillong to Cherrapunji (56 Km/ 2 Hrs)

Post breakfast, prepare for a journey to Cherrapunji, famously known as the wettest place on earth. As you drive, make a stop at the magnificent Elephant Falls and enjoy the panoramic views from Shillong Peak. Upon reaching Sohra (Cherrapunji), dive into nature’s wonders with visits to the Garden of Caves, the fascinating Mawsmai Caves, and the awe-inspiring Nohkalikai Falls, the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Day 4 : Double Decker Root Bridge Trek

Start your day early with a hearty breakfast before embarking on an adventurous trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge. This iconic natural wonder, formed by the interweaving roots of rubber trees, offers a challenging yet rewarding trek through lush forests and picturesque landscapes. The trek, which can take several hours, provides an intimate encounter with the region’s unique flora and fauna. Day 5 : Cherrapunji to Dawki and Mawlynnong

After breakfast, depart for Dawki, a charming town near the India-Bangladesh border. Dawki is renowned for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River, where you can enjoy a boat ride that feels like floating on air due to the river’s transparency. After exploring Dawki, proceed to Mawlynnong, acclaimed as the cleanest village in Asia. Stroll through the village, marvel at the living root bridges, and take in the serene surroundings. Day 6 : Mawlynnong to Krang Suri Waterfall and Laitlum Canyon, then Shillong

Day 7 : Shillong to Guwahati with Local Sightseeing

Visit the Srimanta Shankardev Kalakhetra, a cultural institution showcasing the art, culture, and heritage of Assam. Next, head to the Assam State Zoo, home to a variety of indigenous and exotic animals. Conclude your city tour with a visit to the Umananda Temple, located on Peacock Island in the middle of the Brahmaputra River. In the evening, opt for a relaxing Brahmaputra River Cruise, where you can enjoy the serene river views and a beautiful sunset. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 8 : Kamakhya Devi Temple Visit and Departure

On your final day, start with a visit to the revered Kamakhya Devi Temple, one of the oldest and most significant Shakti Peethas dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. After offering your prayers and exploring the temple, prepare for your departure. You will be transferred to the Guwahati airport or railway station according to your travel schedule, marking the end of a memorable journey through the enchanting landscapes and cultural heritage of Northeast India.
